Provider Self-Assessment

A key component of the risk-based approach to compliance monitoring activities is an annual online provider Self-Assessment Tool (SAT). The SAT is an opportunity for providers to review their policies, procedures and systems to assist program compliance and to identify any areas where improvements are needed.

The 2019/2020 SAT reviews provider readiness for the end of the provider transition period on 31 March 2020. The provider transition period was introduced to allow providers time to update systems, processes and procedures following the implementation of the Hearing Services Program (Voucher) Instrument 2019 and the Service Provider Contract (the contract) on 1 October 2019.

The SAT is compulsory for all providers and failure to complete and submit the SAT by the due date results in the provider being audited.

2019/2020 SAT

The 2019/2020 SAT is now closed. The Compliance Team will review SAT responses and undertake follow-up with providers as required.

Two providers failed to submit a completed SAT by the due date. These providers have been added to the audit schedule.
