Service Provider Contract Redevelopment

The subordinate legislation for the Hearing Services Program has been reviewed in consultation with stakeholders. Feedback on the exposure draft of a proposed single legislative instrument will be considered by government.
Contract Extensions
As notified in CSPN 2019/02 – Thematic Review – Consultation on Draft Legislation, the existing contract will be extended until 30 September 2019 to align with the commencement of the new legislation. Providers should receive the Notice of Extension before the end of May 2019. If you have not received your notice by 1 June 2019 please contact us via email, hearing@health.gov.au.
Contract Redevelopment
Pending the new legislation, a new contract is planned to commence on 1 October 2019. In mid 2019 an exposure draft of a new contract will be circulated for comment. Along with the exposure draft, a What’s Changed document will be provided. The department will also circulate a survey to seek feedback on the current and potential future support for contracted service providers.
Ongoing Updates
The department will keep providers and other relevant stakeholders informed about the processes, timelines and updates through a new webpage – Service Provider Contract Redevelopment. Providers and anyone interested in being kept up to date are advised to register for the RSS Feed on the program website. The RSS feed sends an email update when a webpage is updated or a new CSPN is released.
