National Disability Insurance Scheme Transition Arrangements - Updated
(CSPN - 202007)
The Australian Government has finalised the transition arrangements between the Hearing Services Program (HSP) and the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
From 1 July 2020, the way hearing services will be made available to NDIS participants is changing. While the HSP will continue to operate alongside the NDIS and NDIS participants who are eligible for the HSP will continue to receive services from the HSP, eligible NDIS participants may also access hearing supports and equipment funded through the NDIS.
Only providers that are registered with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission (NDIS Commission) will be able to deliver hearing services to eligible NDIS participants whose plans are managed by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA). This includes obtaining hearing services and equipment included in their NDIS support plans. If you want to provide these hearing services and equipment to NDIA-managed participants, you must register with the NDIS Commission.
Provider Information is available on the NDIS Commission website and you can apply to become a registered provider by using the NDIS Commission online Application Form. If you have any questions or concerns please contact us directly on 1800 035 544 or at contactcentre@ndiscommission.gov.au.
