Hearing Services Program Review Consultation Paper
(CSPN - 202015)

The Review into the Hearing Services Program announced by the Hon Mark Coulton, Minister for Regional Health, Regional Communications and Local Government in August 2020 is underway, led by and Independent Panel headed by  Professor Mike Woods as Chair, and Dr Zena Burgess.

The Review is focused on identifying opportunities to modernise the Program and ensure it has balanced representation from across the sector.

The Taskforce Review Panel would like hear from you to assist in improving hearing services for the benefit of all Australians.

Key areas for consideration when preparing submissions

  • Does the program deliver services aligned with clinical need and contemporary service delivery?
  • How the Voucher component and device maintenance payment system compare with advances in the manufacturing sector and product offerings
  • How technology is changing the provision of services through the program
  • How program services are currently delivered and whether access can be enhanced for vulnerable Australians and in thin markets, such as regional, rural and remote areas.

Consultation Paper – Calling for submissions

Released on Friday 30 October 2020, The Hearing Services Program Review Consultation Paper aims to prompt discussion around key areas that could inform the Program’s modernisation. The Paper can be found here.
