Contracted Service Provider Notice

The Schedule of Service Items and Fees was released in June 2021, following a consolidation of program standards, service requirements, conditions for claiming, evidence requirements and other documentation. The Hearing Services Program (program) has reviewed the feedback received from providers since the release of the Schedule of Service Items and Fees in 2021 and incorporated changes into an update in February 2022.

The department invited stakeholders to provide feedback on the proposed Schedule of Service Items and Fees 2022-23 in April 2022. Feedback was received from service providers, industry groups and practitioner professional bodies (PPB).

Some of the new inclusions in the Schedule of Service Items and Fees are:

• Private Services information
• Table of Changes from previous version
• New program standard – Documenting Consent and Agreement

The Schedule of Service Items and Fees 2022-23 will come into effect on 1 July 2022 on the Federal Register of Legislation (FRL).

Telehealth

The program would like to remind service providers that the Schedule of Service Items and Fees outlines the service items which can be delivered via telehealth. Some services, such as assessments, cannot be delivered via telehealth and must be completed face to face. Each service item outlines if telehealth is an accepted delivery method.
