Contracted Service Providers

A contracted service provider is an entity which has a signed contract with the Department of Health (the Department) to provide hearing services to eligible clients under the Australian Government Hearing Services Program (the program). All entities will go through an accreditation process in order to be offered a contract.

How to become a contracted service provider

If you would like to become a contracted service provider who is able to provide hearing services to eligible clients under the  program you must first be accredited by the Department. The accreditation process is outlined in the online application form.

Obligations as a contracted service provider

The obligations as a contracted service provider require you to adhere to all of the clauses of the contract, and the associated standards. All service providers may be auditedIt is important to understand the obligations you have to the program under the contract, and to have appropriate documentation in place to be able to support these obligations. The Department recommends that you read the contract so you have an understanding of your obligations under the program.

Refusal of Service

Service providers should be aware of their responsibilities under the Hearing Services Rules of Conduct 2012 (the Rules) should they refuse services to a client of the Australian Government Hearing Services Program (the program).
